I was very impressed with the picture quality, which is second to none. With a full HD 1080p resolution, the images on its 42-inch display are so real. A 120 Hz refresh rate and a 4ms response time means that there is no image lag or juddering in this Sharp high definition TV. This makes for some wonderful viewing, especially for sports lovers. Its 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio provides deeper blacks and purer whites resulting in richer colors. Two speakers integrated onto the bottom of the TV provide a 30W stereo output.
The Sharp LC42D85U LCD Television has built-in ATSC/QAM/NTSC tuners that gains you access to DTV and analog TV channels. It also offers a number of connectivity options, including five HDMI Digital ports to connect your HD gadgets.
At forty pounds, this flat panel television is light and moving it around is very easy. I was also able to set up the TV on the stand within 10 minutes. (The set up is very similar to that of a computer LCD monitor.) The black metal stand is sturdy as well. The AQUOS LINK lets me control not just the TV, but my AQUOS Blu-ray disc player too simultaneously.
I’ve had a fantastic time with my Sharp LC42D85U LCD Television and it has fitted into my living room beautifully. The durability of this flat panel television is definitely worth mentioning. The Sharp AQUOS LCD Television comes at a very competent price; for a TV that’s as good as this, it’s definitely worth it.

HDTV is just resolution, by convention 720P or higher. 19" and higher LCD tvs and monitors are usually HD.
Plasma makes its own light in each cell by discharging a gas which excites a phosphor. Plasma sets practically start at 42"
Flat is just that, flat, as opposed to deep, which a CRT or rear projection set would be. Both LCD and Plasma are considered flat display technologies.
LCD gates light from a separate light source, typically LED or fluorescent.
Most Plasma and LCD TVs support a PC connection to be a monitor.
