Is it worth getting a blue ray player if my TV is only a 720p?

I am on a budget,and all I could afford was a 720p LCD TV:

It is definitely still worth going BluRay. 720p BluRay is still vastly improved over SD DVD. You will still get a tone of improved picture quality because you are in HD. And at that TV size, you wouldn't be too likely to even notice 1080p. 1080p advantages kick in more around 42" and then even moreso as you break 50". So really I wouldn't even recommend buying a 1080p TV at 37" (if the one you liked had 1080p great, but it just wouldn't be worth paying extra for at that size).

You got a solid TV in that Samsung for sure. I think someone else mentioned a Vizio. Vizio is a respectable up and coming manufacturer, but they are a good budget option. Samsung is the industry leader in LCD technology. Samsung is also usually quite good in the bang-for-buck category. If went LCD I'd be hard pressed to not go with Samsung.
