Insalling a Wall mount without a stud??
I could not find a wood stud in my wall, since this is a high rise apartment building, it looks like the drywall is on some kind of thin metal strip? are there any alternates to install a wall mount with some other hardware?? I am trying to install a sanus vm200 mount to holda 32" LCD, approx weight of TV is 35LBS, any suggestions!
well by code studs are placed at 16" on center if you cant find one or 2 what to do is
get something called a butterfly anchor these will hold its a screw with a nut on the end that can be collapsed and fit through a pre drilled hole in the wall
if your in an apartment building mounting on a wall that is ajacent to another unit its possable that the wall is fire rated and about 2 inches thick you will need longer bolts about 3 1/2 " otherwise 2" ones will work just fine make sure you have everything cause onece you install you cant remove them without replacing them.
this one is good and you wont have to make a big hold but weight is a concern
