Am sure the 8500's scheme rear-LED provide more discriminant dark areas onscreen but for Because not worth extra thousand dollars me. The blacks and dark areas on UN55B7000 Samsung LED look great.
I noticed corners screen appear slightly darker where backlight not undertake corner but models only showroom were throughout day. I have not seen the dark corners on a white screen on my drive home. I also heard some people experimented breakdowns hardware after week visualization house typically where screen becomes all white which requires repair. Best Buy said if happens and can not it repair two weeks will replace unity (also offer warranty 4 years for another $ 400). 'm Keep my fingers crossed that I obtain unit defective but hitherto so good. The TV seems so great was willing grasp possibility. However if works for one month itll probably work forever such is history electronics. Just a heads up Samsung Customer Service is obtaining a LOT complaints Internet for unresponsiveness repairs. But still, TV is so good, I'm just keep my fingers crossed. 50 inch rear projection television won't power on...?
when I hit the power button on tje tv or the remote it just makes a flicker/power on sound and the led light on the power button will flash on then turn off right away.
Any troubleshooting tips would be great.

It sounds like a power supply problem, but it would only be worth repairing if you were a technician. If you have someone repair it, expect to pay upwards of $500. After it's fixed, all you'll have is a 15-year-old, non-HD, non-digital TV.
For around $1,000 you could buy a new 50" HD DLP.
