Satellite TV channels have made greater inroads into the TV loving subscriber base because of the quality. That has led many to assume that dish TV must be priced really high. Tv Turns Off and On Randomly?
We just bought a flatscreen Samsung LED. We got a good discount on it because it was the, "display model" however randomly it turns itself off and turns itself on & catches up to whatever we're watching. It's weird and we don't know how to fix it. could it be because it was the display model?

It could be a problem with blown "Caps" (Capacitors) in which case, you can get them replaced by taking it in to an expert repair shop.
You could tackle it yourself also, but if you don't trust yourself or have any experience with working around (tinkering) electronics, I would not suggest it!!!
The TV is most likely restarting, much like a computer does when it over heats, a video card without enough air flow, like say the fan on the board dies, will kick off and then on again.
If a regulated amount of power is not sent to every part of the board, it will kill power.
If you do plan on taking this on yourself, you need to remember that just because the TV is unplugged, it still holds enough amps to kill you.
You need to power it up after you unplug it (I normally start it up a couple times to be sure).
Open it up, and look for any Caps which are not flat with intact cross lines on top of their canisters, these are pin points to the problem.
The next step is to find a source to purchase new Caps, and then you need to remove the old caps, clean the holes (granted they aren't SMC's) then get a steady hand, and solder the new ones into place.
EVERYTHING is SMC now, so.
This is a new TV, and I'm sure you just wanna have it work right, so I would get it looked at professionally, and maybe even get a hold of the company.
Samsung makes nice monitors, but Caps and Resistors are manufactured all over the place, and if your TV was made with a bad batch (I've heard of many people having problems with Samsung sets), you need to talk to the store who sold it to you.
Tell them that you demand your money back, or you will spread the word of how they sold you crap.
Notify the Better Business Bureau if they don't help you.
