In this article, we will take a look at the most popular LCD TVs for Christmas.  Of course, Sony and Samsung are among the top selling LCD TVs for Christmas, but there are other great deals out there that might just be better.

Televisions are drastically different today that they were just five years ago.  Thus, when buying a new TV now, your decision making factors are different as well.

These questions are different now because we have entered the world of LCD TVs.  A few years ago, a war was waged between Plasma TVs and LCD TVs.  LCD TVs have won the war.

Thus, let's take a look at the best LCD TVs available this Christmas, how they differ, and what you should consider when buying your new LCD TV.

The two most popular LCD TVS right now above 50 inches are the Sony Bravia line and the Samsung Touch of Color line.  Each of these top rated LCD TVs costs around $2000 and each provide outstanding picture quality and advanced features including an Internet connection (which allows you to download and watch movies immediately) and USB ports for direct play from USB devices.

However, there are other models that provide a larger screen and an outstanding picture if you do not need the extra bells and whistles like Internet connectivity that many people do not use.

The first on this list is the LG 55LH40 which is a 55-inch beauty and costs under $1,500.  The second LCD television that you will want to consider is the Sharp AQUOS LC60E77UN 60-Inch LCD TV which comes in at under $2,000 (the same price as a Sony 52 inch model).  Can you imagine watching the Superbowl on a 60-inch LCD television?

There is also a Sony Bravia Model, the Sony Bravia V-Series KDL-52V4100, which is 52 inches and currently priced for the Holiday season at  $1,199.  If you want the Sony name, and don't require all the bells and whistles, this 52 inch offering from Sony is a great deal.

There is one certainty:  Christmas is the absolute best time to get a new LCD TV.  Manufactures drastically reduce prices because they know that they are going to sell a large amount of volume.

This Christmas, if you want all of the bells and whistles on your new LCD TV, choose the Sony Bravia or the Samsung Touch of Color.  However, if you don't need the Internet connectivity, choose one of the larger TVs mentioned above for a much better price!
