Sony HDTVs - Cutting Edge Stuff
The Sony name is one that is synonymous with great high end electronics and industry leading technology. Often one of the first companies to bring things to market and almost always a name that tops the lists of best products. It comes as no surprise that Sony HDTVs are also among some of the very best HDTV's money can buy.
Sony comes to market with three major types of Sony HDTVs. First is their LCD lineup, known as Bravia. Bravia's come in every size and price point imaginable, including reaching its own pinnacle of 70". As such, one of the most popular models is the KDL-52XBR6. This 52" flat panel 1080P TV offers some of the most crisp images and audio that can still fit into most people's budgets. The blacks are sharp and the rest of the colors are accurate. There are also plenty of HDMI inputs, this model featuring 3, as well as 1 PC input. This LCD as a fixture looks great, too, with a Sony exclusive "floating glass" design and interchangeable colors. Although it still doesn't hit the picture quality of plasma, this model outperforms many LCD's in its price range today.
The newest of new technology comes in the way of Sony's Organic LED sets, known as OLED. Sony was the first to bring this technology to market and offers up some of the most impressive features that can be witnessed in Sony HDTVs today. The "organic" reference in the OLED title refers to a layer of carbon that light transmitted from LED's passes through. This creates an ultra bright luminance, which is then passed through a color filter to help refine the color. By varying the thickness of the organic material, the brightness can be adjusted by color to allow for maximum output. Right now it is only available in an 11" desktop HD set but we will no doubt see Sony take this technology and run with it.
Finally, the last thing that Sony HDTVs line offers isn't really a TV but rather a front projector. Although these can be just as expensive as some massive HD sets, each has their benefits and drawbacks. Clearly, the one major benefit of an HD projector is if you have or are planning on building a true home theater. Sony's front projectors feature all of the coolest gadgets and technologies you've come to expect from HD shopping but can be made to throw the image on a screen of almost any size.

Should I buy a new LCD television?
Presently I have two televisions: a 20 inch Sharp LCD (that is not HD) and a 36 inch Sony flat panel, but it is not an LCD. The Sony has the large back, but the screen is definitely flat. Here is my dilemma: there is absolutely nothing wrong with my Sony 36 inch TV. It is HUGE and takes up a lot of room, but I rarely ever watch it. I'd love to get a nice, sleek, new LCD, about a 40 inch, 1080/240hz, but I am undecided. I'd like to know what the community thinks. Thanks, guys.
it depends what you will be using the tv for. if you going to play HD or blu-ray games and movies i recommend a 1080p tv but if you just a person that just watches tv then just go with a regular lcd. The size of your tv should usually be half of the viewing distance e.g. if your lounge is 2m away from the tv, your tv should be around 102 cm (40")
i think you should keep with the tv you got or sell it and get a new on. it's no point to have 3 tvs which you rarely use.
