I am in the market for a new television and I need help making the final decision. I am in love with the 46 inch Samsung LED UN46B6000 and it is sold for $1588. I am in love with the thinness but I don't know if I can live with the backlighting issues people always complain about.

Plasmas and LCDs are geared more toward watching movies. LED tvs, because of there higher contrasts ratios, are better suited for live television broadcasts and gaming. If you're more concerned about gaming, spring for the LED. However, movies will look ultra realistic, to the point where it actually ruins the effect and makes you feel like you are on set watching it being made. If you want a good, all around tv, go for the LCD. Plasmas have great color saturation and black levels, but they consume much more energy than the other two technologies.
