Sony Bravia KDL46V5500U LCD Television Review
Sony's V series offers a lot of picture for a reasonable price. Sony's most inexpensive line is the S series - the step up range is the V series. The Sony KDL46V5500 has been around since earlier this year.
The TV possesses a matt finish 46 inch LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) panel screen that helps to prevent glare. As a result, reflections should no longer be a problem even in a well-lit room.
The Full HD resolution of 1,920x1,080 is sensible for a TV of this size. It will be simple for you to recognize and take pleasure in the increased clarity of Blu-ray pictures, even at normal distances for viewing.
The Sony KDL46V5500's picture functions at 50 Hz. On a 24 frames per second Blu-ray disc the TV displays the picture at a frame rate of 48 Hertz. The television displays the 24 Hz signal faultlessly thanks to Sony's 24p True Cinema.

Another advantage of this Sony Bravia TV is that audio, video, and picture files can be played from a USB stick or from a network.
To access your network via the TV you must have a uPnP server. This is network software which offers easy access and compatibility to all forms of media.
Both analogue and digital broadcasts can be received by the tuner in the Sony Bravia Kdl-46V5500.If you are in an area where only analogue signals are available or you are connecting an cable box then the analogue tuner will be particularly useful.
This Sony television has all of the connections that you will need in convenient positions to effortlessly interface with most devices. The Sony KDL-46V5500U has four HDMI inputs for attaching Blu-ray players and recorders for optimal performance. Analogue devices such as VCRs and Camcorders with composite video outputs can be connected via the 2 Scart inputs and an S-Video input. The Sony KDL46V5500U includes a VGA D-sub 15 connector for attaching a computer, and a component input for HD analogue video equipment. The audio output of the television may be attached to an amplifier by the 2 analogue cinch connectors, or through the digital optical output. It also has a 3.5 mm headphone socket for private listening.
Up to eight preset picture settings can be accessed by a single 'Scene' button on the remote control for easy picture adjustment The menu on the Sony KDL-46V5500 mimics that of the user-unfriendly "PlayStation 3" interface. You have to frequently navigate through several pages of settings because the entire menu can not be displayed on one page, which makes it difficult to use.

Which one, Plasma or LCD tv?
I'm wanting to purchase a new t.v. I was wanting a plasma t.v, as I've heard what a great picture they have. But, then I started doing a little research, and read about how they don't last very long. Then I went to wanting a lcd t.v,thinking that would be the best way to go ...and thinking that it would beable to keep up with a large family , who watches t.v at various times...but now that I'm reading reviews on them, its the same thing...people saying that they don't last very long , how they lose their picture, or how they have sound but no picture after a few months of owning the lcd t.v?So if people have this many problems out of these t.v's then why,and how have they became so popular?What's the best t.v to go with, plasma or lcd?Also, which is the best brand with the best rep?I don't want to spend hundreds,maybe thousands of dollars on a television that's not going to be any good after just a few months?So any suggestions would be great.
If you're planning on going over 42" go plasma. Less than 42", LCDs are meant to be better.
Don't worry about "burn in" with plasmas - this will only happen if you leave the same STATIC image on the screen for 3hrs+.
