Which tv should i purchase?.?

Im debating on whether to get the new Samsung plasma (PN50A650) or new Samsung LCD (LN40A650) they are both part of the 650 touch of color series....both are top of the line in their own class.

I've seen both of these sets in action....and they both look amazing. A few conditions will affect which one you should really go with;

In a Plasma,You'll get darker better looking blacks. You'll also get less motion blur than an LCD will. It's got it's few drawbacks though...the sets get VERY HOT, they're VERY HEAVY, so if you're mounting it, you'll find it more difficult to mount than an LCD. If your room has a lot of natural lighting (windows, skylights) it will KILL the picture on a plasma. Since the panel has a piece of glass on top of the screen, it will get lots of glares, and reflect lighting on it. And although the burn in issue in plasmas has come a long way in being improved, there STILL is a chance of burn in. Also, if you're looking for a FULL HD 1080p model, there is a very limited selection of plasmas that will produce a 1080p resolution.

LCD are much BRIGHTER, with BRILLIANT COLORS. They are much more energy efficient, will use a lot less power than a plasma. HUGE selection of FULL HD 1080p resolution sets. LCD tvs are usually a "gamer's" first choice over a plasma. The brighter colors and no chance of burn in are vital for playing games.They are much lighter, easier to mount than a plasma. Much better than a plasma for a brightly lit room with lots of sunlight, minimal glares. This type of tv also has a few draw-backs...LCDs sometimes have problems with displaying blacks properly (although newer sets have come a long way!) sometimes displaying them as shades of green almost. Motion blur is more visible than on a plasma with fast moving actions, especially when watching in 1080i.
