I have Been doing recently purchase of UN55B7000 Samsung and I must say it was a great TV.

I rarely write reviews on anything. I do not like LCD or plasma hatred. I have no desire to convince someone to buy this TV. I'm just a guy who ditched a 20-year-old Trinitron was because, well, time. When it comes to new purchases on anything but wait ... wait ... wait ... and then buy the best I can afford.

I went with LCD and plasma, because even though the plasma image retention and burn-in issues are said to "solve", I frankly was not interested in cuddling, break-in or any TLC for a TV. I look - and will continue to look - lots of content non-16x9 with black bars on the sides or top / bottom. Even my room is quite bright with lots of windows and I wanted to be able to crank this puppy whenever I needed. I was a bit 'worried about potential problems reflected on this series but I had absolutely no problem.

For me, this series is the contrast of a plasma and the "pop" of an LCD. I had the chance to see this set in a shop before buying (it was set in a "dynamic of the torch, of course). Yet, I was immediately struck by blacks ink UN55B7000 Samsung than any other LCD. This was largely due to LED backlighting instead of cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) used in most large LCD screens. In fact, most LCDs are nice black levels to my eye but not videophile UN55B7000 Samsung was in a class of its own and competing with any plasma I've seen in terms of blacks ink.

At home, I did not do any tuning, but still out of the box looks fantastic. Blu-ray content is spectacular. I also was very pleased with the quality up-scaled to broadcast standard and typical of DVD content.

I wanted a high definition TV for several years and wanted to replace a CRT in the bedroom and living room. I spent so many hours to review TV online and in stores, but decided to take the plunge for the bedroom necessities. I had the choice boiled up to 3 sets, the Sony 40W4100, 40XBR4 and the Samsung LN40A650. Ultimately I pikced the Samsung and have not regretted the choice. I was very impreseed with black levels (50K to 1 contrast) as the most important feature, not high-definition photos. The set off incredible viewing angle and a myriad of settings. I am a techno junkie and have tried almost every variation of image adjustment offering. Eventually I just set to Dynamic mode and let it do its thing.

In December 2008 I decided to address the needs of new residence and returned to study all options. In 3 months the gap to get the bedroom setup Samsung released the A950 series. The list price was shocking, but not as shocking as the Sony XBR 8 series. While Sony has received rave reviews in the final analysis, I choose the UN55B7000 Samsung and paid less than 4 KB of Crutchfield. (I'm willing to negotiate if you send them links to other etailers)

I must say that this was absolutely the right choice. This unit is paired with a Samsung BD-P2550 Blu-Ray and is outright the best picture for the money market today. Even Samsung's new LED TV (actually more and LCD), does not get the rave reviews like the UN55B7000 Samsung. I highly recommend you take a look at this TV is your market.

Lamp replacement for a lcd tv?

i have a lcd Samsung Tv and the lamp burnt out and my warranty expired.
Does anybody know somewhere i can get a new lamp for my tv?

Contact Samsung...they should be able to give you dealers in your area. As far getting a lamp and replacing it yourself i'd advise against that. You can usually only get the part from the manufacturer and it'll be cheaper and easier if you just have someone do it.
I should warn you it might be a little pricey. I just paid $500 to have the lamp replaced on my 42" Samsung. Next time try and extend your warranty. I won't make THAT mistake again.
